enlighted...

i watched this ch8 show ard two days ago... its a show about a game having 2 contestants who don speak english speak english... but first the celebrity in charge of them will teach them some simple english... so there is this auntie who has pan lingling as her "teacher"....n they began wif names of food...there's the cheesecake...n pan lingling ask the auntie how to say "ci4 ji1" in hokkien, n its sth like "qi1 gek", cos it sounds somewat like cheesecake, tts quite funny in tt show....n so something came to my mind....though i dun use tt hokkien term, "qi gek", but i always heard pple using it, pple in sch mostly not the older pple....n they use it like to say tt they r angry?? or sort of feeling unpleasant?? or sth like tt, i m not too sure.... so i asked my dad n uncle, they said the meaning of "qi gek" is actually "thrilling" or exciting, sth ard there....haha, it dun tally rite?? thrilling n angry is soo different.... but i trust tt the real meaning is thrilling, haha, but correct me if i m wrong, n treat all these as crap...

a long time ago, ard sec 1, i began hearing pple refering to pretty gals as chio bu.... it puzzled me cos i nv heard it before...n so i asked ard, asked my dad n uncle again....n they said sth like they din heard it before?? or pple dun use the chio wif the bu... i forgot already....chio means sth like fierce, proud????? i m really not sure, but pretty is not really "chio" la n saying it in a slightly different way would mean prostitutes....but its up to pple to use it..... but the "bu" sound really really vulgar, well at least to me, imagining refering to a gal to a female species, get it??it reminds me of the hen my family kept before.... n to say it again, i may be wrong, n tell me if i m wrong, n treat these all as crap....
